The optimization of cooperation between research centers and companies and the urgency of promoting a greater awareness of the benefits of innovation by SMEs were some of the main arguments put forward for debate by employers attending the second “Cafè amb la recerca” organized by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) and held at the Computer Vision Center (CVC) on 10th of July.
The sessions “cafè amb la recerca” are an informal discussion between Catalan research centers and companies in a close and friendly environment. The objective is to find ways of mutual cooperation. The meeting at the CVC was attended by executives from Siemens, FICOSA, Mitsubishi Electric, Hartmann Palex Medical and Zetes Multicom, as well as representatives of organizations CECOT FemCAT and ASCAMM, among others.
The event began with a presentation of the research developed at the CVC, conducted by the director, Joseph Lladós, followed by a discussion and a visit to the laboratories and facilities of the center. The “Cafè amb la recerca” meetings are part of the Science-Business FCRI, which seeks to align innovation challenges of companies productive scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs who have the best skills to solve them.
