April 8, 2015 at 9:38 am by

With the aim of developing a prototype system based on the use of drones to support the work of the Fire Brigade in the management of emergencies, the Direcció General de Prevenció, Extinció d’Incendis i Salvaments has signed an agreement with the Compuer Vision Center, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and  the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

The 3 years partnership (renewable annually), will develop the devices and technology that will ultimately facilitate the decision making of the controls of Firemen in emergency management.

The CVC  is responsible for work processing and analysis of video footage and photographs taken by the drone.
