Volkswagen Group’s initiative CARNET (Cooperative Automotive Research Network) Organized a fair in UPC’s Campus Nord on Wednesday 1st of June. Future concepts and prototypes of Urban Mobility were exhibited.
CVC research group ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) participated with their autonomous car. During the event many people including press, students and industry professionals visited ADAS’ booth. Especially real time pedestrian detection and 3D semantic mapping were under spotlight.
ADAS contributes the research hub with the following key research areas:

- Collision Avoidance
- Pedestrian protection
- Automatic Cruise Control
- Headlights Control
Apart from the founding members Seat, VW and UPC, Altran, EDAG Group, RACC, IDIADA and FICOSA also presented their projects.
The Cooperative Automotive Research Network, initiated by SEAT, Volkswagen Group Research and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), is an open hub for industrial and academic partners from the areas of automotive and mobility research & innovation. CARNET works through project-based collaboration. It focuses on innovation and solutions that close the gap between academic research and industrial innovation in urban mobility.
