Third prize award for the Bellvitge hospital unit of Pulmonology and Radiology and the Augmented Image Modelling (IAM) team at CVC, at the CHEST Conference 2016 that’s taking place this week at Los Angeles, California. The award is given by the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) for the research work ‘Positive airway pressure – enhanced CT to improve virtual bronchoscopic navigation’ signed by both Bellvitge Hospital and CVC researchers, amongst them Marta Díez- Ferrer and Dr. Antoni Rosell (Bellvitge Hospital-IDIBELL), Dr. Debora Gil (Head of the Augmented Image modelling team), Dr. Carles Sánchez and Dr. Agnés, all three from CVC. This research is part of the Marató de TV3 grant on endomicroscopial confocal diagnoses of pulmonary solitarily nodules, where both teams work together.
This is not the first prize for the multidisciplinary team. Two weeks ago, they won another prize at MICCAI, Athens, for their work on ‘Stable Anatomical Structure Tracking for video-bronchoscopy Navigation’. Know more about this and other team prizes here.
