The Computer Vision Center is looking for PhD Candidates to work on Perception-based Autonomous Driving

The Computer Vision Center (CVC), at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), is looking for passionate and outstanding students to pursue a PhD in the field of perception-based autonomous driving, using deep learning techniques. Given the many open problems on autonomous driving, there are several specific topics that can be the PhD main focus: end-to-end driving, dataset generation based on augmented reality, domain adaptation, object detection and semantic segmentation, etc. The PhD period is 3 years and may be developed in close collaboration with companies of the field. The candidate will be in the group of Dr. Antonio M. Lopez, from where recent projects such SYNTHIA (www.synthia-dataset.net) and CARLA (carla.org) were born.

The candidates should have a master degree in computer science or related engineering areas, previous experience in deep learning and strong programming skills (C++/python, pyTorch/TensorFlow).
The interested candidates should send their application to <adas.phdgrants@cvc.uab.es> with subject “PhD Grant Application, 2018”.
The application must include:

  • CV;
  • An official record of undergraduate and master marks;
  • A one page research statement.

The application period will finish by the end of October 2018, however, it is convenient to send the application as soon as possible.
