The CVC/UAB in Barcelona is looking for PhD Candidates to work on Perception-based Autonomous Driving.

The Computer Vision Center (CVC), at the Univ. Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), is looking for passionate and outstanding students to pursue a PhD in the field of perception-based autonomous driving, using deep learning techniques. Given the many open problems on autonomous driving, there are several specific topics that can be the PhD main focus, specially “generation of corner cases using augmented reality to train and test AI drivers” and “task-agnostic domain adaptation from virtual (training) to real (testing) worlds”. The PhD period is 3 years. The candidate will be in the group of Dr. Antonio M. Lopez, from where recent projects such SYNTHIA (www.synthia-dataset.net) and CARLA (carla.org) were born.

The candidates should have a master degree in computer science or related engineering areas, previous experience in deep learning and strong programming skills (C++/python, pyTorch/TensorFlow).
