A CVC team composed by our junior researchers Sanket Biswas, Mohamed Ali Souibgui, Carlos Boned & Andrea Gemelli (CVC visiting PhD student from the University of Firenze) as well as Vacit Oguz Yazici attended and presented their work at the International Conference on Pattern Recognition in Montréal, Québec. Should you have any question, do not hesitate to contact them.
Furthermore, Dr Josep Lladós (CVC Director) and Dr Sergio Escalera (CVC & University of Barcelona researcher) were acknowledged for his work. Dr Josep Lladós, was appointed Secretary of the new International Association of Pattern Recognition (IAPR) Executive Committee and received a "Certificate of Appreciation" for his long-term leadership service with impact on the association's committees. (Know more). Dr Sergio Escalera, received the IAPR Fellow Award for his contributions to the field of Pattern Recognition and Human Behaviour Analysis. (Know more)
In addition, our young reearchers collaborated in the promotion of ICPR 2024, in Kolkata, the hometown of some of our students and a city where CVC has good partners. Our CVC director Dr Josep Lladós and Prof Dr Petia Radeva are chairs of the tracks; "Document Analysis and Recognition" and "Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning for Pattern Analisys", respectively.
Finally, a meeting was organised with our CVC alumni Pau Rodríguez in which they exchange ideas and experiences and visited his lab.
