Computer Programmer to join the Innovation Unit

The Technological Innovation Unit seeks applications to fill a position for a Computer Programmer focused on Applied Computer Vision.

The main task of the department is to transfer the results of the research of the centre to companies, or to the community in general. Another important task of the unit is to carry out feasibility studies for companies in the field of Computer Vision. For this purpose, the unit has a laboratory to develop prototypes.

Main responsibilities:

● Transfer the results of CVC's research (scientific articles and code) into demo applications
● Build prototypes and/or practical solution to validate the feasibility of solutions based on Computer Vision
● Create software to acquire data for specific applications

Job knowledge, skills and experience:

Candidates must have knowledge and/or experience in:

● Programming skills in Python and relevant libraries (OpenCV, Tensorflow, Pytorch)
● Solid knowledge of standard neural networks (classification, object detection, semantic segmentation, instance segmentation)
● The candidate must be an effective communicator, multitask, and work well on collaborative and interdisciplinary designs
● Ability to think creatively, work independently and make decisions
● Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure

Highly valuable skills:

Candidates with the following knowledge and/or experience will be evaluated positively, but are not mandatory:

● Knowledge of building Mobile Phone Applications

Conditions:

The position will be located at Computer Vision Centre (Campus Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)

● Part-time contract 25h / week, a good environment, flexible working hours
● Duration: 6 months
● Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience of the candidate and to CVCs salary regulations

The Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research center established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to carry out cutting-edge research that has the highest international impact in the field of computer vision. It also promotes the transference of knowledge to industry and society.
