The Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research center established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Research area or group: Document Analysis Group (DAG), under supervision of Dr. Josep Lladós
About the Role
The Document Analysis Group (DAG) at the Computer Vision Center is looking for a junior researcher to join our team starting in July 2025.
You will work on research focused on understanding and interpreting document images using artificial intelligence — combining deep learning, computer vision, and graph-based models. Your work will contribute to the development of intelligent systems capable of analysing the structure and content of documents.
You will also be expected to enroll in the Master in Computer Vision (UAB–CVC) starting in September 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to research in document understanding and structured data extraction.
- Apply and explore AI techniques for interpreting document images.
- Work with publicly available datasets and tools.
- Participate in writing reports, papers, and sharing research results.
- Collaborate closely with an international team of researchers.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a motivated early-career researcher with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT.
- Strong academic record.
- Experience with deep learning and computer vision projects.
- Programming skills in Python and knowledge of tools like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Good level of English.
- Compromise to enroll in the Master in Computer Vision (UAB–CVC) for 2025–2026.
Conditions:
- Full-time position
- Based at the CVC, on the UAB campus (Bellaterra, Barcelona)
- Annual gross salary of €16,576, in line with the salary scale established by the institution.
- Start date: Early July 2025
