In addition to our cutting-edge scientific achievements, we have established lasting ties with industrial partners and created several spin-off companies.

Research area or group: Image Sequence Evaluation

Context and Mission

The Image Sequence Evaluation research group is seeking applications to fill a support technician position focused on the development of a software prototype that aims to accurately predict lesion histology in real-time colonoscopy images and videos. The novelty of this project is the ability of the method to identify additional histological classes (serrated sessile adenomas, high- and low-grade dysplasia) that would make the support system go beyond the classic binary problem (adenomatous polyps vs. hyperplastic polyps).

This position is linked to project “Sistema d’intel·ligència artificial per a la detecció i diagnòstic de càncer de còlon en imatge de colonoscòpia”, funded by Catalan government through the DiH4CAT initiative.

Main responsibilities

  • Development and validation of techniques for detecting lesions in colonoscopy images and videos.
  • Integration of spatiotemporal tracking tools for lesions to improve the performance of lesion detection systems in colonoscopy images and videos.
  • Development and validation of techniques for classifying polyps in static images and colonoscopy videos.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciencer.
  • MsC on Computer Vision.
  • On-going PhD studies will be highly evaluated.
  • Fluency in English
  • Prior experience in application of Deep Learning techniques for colonoscopy image and video analysis will be highly evaluated.

Conditions

  • The position will be located at Computer Vision Center (Campus Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Cerdanyola del Vallès).
  • Full-time temporary contract (4 months)
  • Salary: 24000 € annual gross
  • Start date: 01/09/2025

Applications procedure and process

All applications must be sent through the online form and include a full CV and contact details.
