CVC and Leben Salud sign a collaboration agreement
The Computer Vision Center (CVC) has signed a framework collaboration agreement with Leben Salud (Fundación Médica de Río Negro y Neuquén, Argentina) to promote research and the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods applied to healthcare.
This collaboration aims to foster joint computer vision projects focused on improving patient diagnosis and treatment, while also promoting technology transfer and international scientific progress between Catalonia and Argentina.
As a first initiative, both institutions will work on the ONESHOT project, focused on developing an AI algorithm to characterize lung nodules from medical images. This initiative will combine medical imaging, clinical, histopathological, and genomic data, as well as expertise on clinical workflows in oncology.
The participation of Dr. Ricardo Ruggieri, physician at Leben Salud, is key to fully understanding clinical workflows in the management of oncology cases, such as lung cancer, thereby contributing to the development of AI models by the IAM group at CVC, led by Dr. Débora Gil.
