Smart City Expo World Congress 2025

Smart City Expo World Congress 2025

The Computer Vision Center (CVC) participated in the Smart City Expo World Congress, held this year at the Fira de Barcelona from November 4 to 6.

The CVC occupied a space within the Catalonia stand, where it showcased its applied research and innovative projects, receiving several international delegations interested in its solutions, thanks to the support of ACCIÓ. At the booth, visitors could see a live demonstration in collaboration with qurv, highlighting the power of wide-spectrum vision, a technology that enables machines to see beyond the visible and has applications in industry, recycling, autonomous driving, and rescue operations.

During the first day of the congress, the CVC welcomed Maria Galindo, Secretary of Digital Policies, and Pol Gibert, Secretary of Business and Labor, who learned firsthand about the projects and innovations being developed at the center.

In addition, the RDI-IA Network, coordinated by the CVC, played a prominent role at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, the congress space dedicated to innovative artificial intelligence projects. Some of the most notable projects included:

  • JEPMEN, a virtual mental health coach for students that combines AI and social robotics to provide 24/7 emotional support, detect symptoms in real time, and facilitate personalized interventions.
  • TECOUS, a B2B LegalTech SaaS startup that transforms the management of Terms and Conditions in e-commerce, automating processes and ensuring greater transparency and legal security for digital companies.

Also, Victor Cepero Escribano, a CVC PhD student, presented BrainMapp on the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit stage. BrainMapp is an innovative neurosurgery assistance software that automates electrical stimulation mapping during awake brain surgeries.
