About CVC

The Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research center established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to carry out cutting-edge research that has the highest international impact in the field of computer vision. It also promotes the transference of knowledge to industry and society.

Computer vision is an exciting research area and an omnipresent technology, essentially empowering machines with the sense of vision. The CVC is a successful marriage between knowledge and innovation. In addition to our cutting-edge scientific achievements, we have established lasting ties with industrial partners and created several spin-off companies.

Research area or group

The CVC colour group https://www.cvc.uab.es/research-lines/color/ focuses its research on areas related to computational colour within computer vision. Our long-term objective is to create computer algorithms that simulate human perception and categorisation of colour. We study colour as a visual cue in its context to achieve this aim.

Context and Mission

The XIVE project (Explainable & Interactive Visual Enhancement Ref: PID2021-128178OB-I00 whose goal is focusing on Visual Enhancement Challenges like: (a) Low-level Image Correction, (b) Digital Heritage Restoration, (c) Realistic Image Generation by building explainable and interactive models.

In the frame of this project, we offer a three-months Research Support Technician Position to advance on the goals two specific work packages:

WP3.2. Low-level image and video correction problems

In this work package, the selected candidate will be responsible for evaluating various models developed for color enhancement and restoration, such as improving images to replicate an expert’s style.

WP3.4. Evaluation of techniques developed in the project for color image editing, such as image relighting and image content manipulation.

This work package involves the evaluation and refinement of several models developed for “Image relighting”. “Image relighting” focuses on achieving a global modification of scene illumination, addressing both spatial light distribution and light color.

This contract is part of the project PID2021-128178OB-I00, funded by MCIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and FEDER/EU.
