Announcement of a junior engineer position for the Innovation Unit of the Computer Vision Center.
Position reference: 20251124_UIT
Closing date: until the vacancy is filled.
About the CVC:
The Computer Vision Centre (CVC) is a CERCA research centre created in 1995 by the Government of Catalonia and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and dedicated to research in the field of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence.
Computer Vision is a challenge for science and technology that, in order to meet the challenge, need collaboration between different areas of research, such as vision sciences, optics, computer science, mathematics or electronics. Research in Computer Vision, apart from helping to understand how biological vision itself works, aims to have a significant impact on people's daily lives.
The CVC, from the UAB campus, works to make the development of computer vision a key factor in the scientific, technological and industrial activities of our country.
Context and Mission
This position is part of the project "ExpIA - From the laboratory to the world: AI experiences to transform the present", aimed at converting the scientific knowledge of the CVC into technological experiences and accessible prototypes.
The selected person will support the Technological Innovation Unit, which is responsible for bringing the centre's technologies and knowledge to society and companies. The philosophy of the unit is to put computer vision into practice.
A junior engineer position is offered to join the Technological Innovation Unit, through a temporary contract linked to the duration of the project, collaborating in various innovation projects, with an important component of artificial intelligence and computer vision, and supporting the team in the development and implementation of interactive technology demonstrations and prototypes. These demonstrations aim to show, in a visual and understandable way, the practical applications of CVC research in sectors such as mobility, health, industry, security or digital culture.
In particular, the main tasks will be:
- Develop prototypes and interactive applications based on computer vision and AI technologies.
- Integrate research models into demonstration environments.
- Document the technical processes and collaborate with the innovation unit, the communication and transfer team.
- Support the maintenance and updating of existing demos.
