The Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research center established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). CONTEXT AND MISSION 

The ISE Lab group is seeking clinical support personnel to collaborate on MNEMOSYNE project on the development and validation of systems for Non-Invasive Monitoring of Renal Grafts Using Ultrasound and Advanced Imaging. 

The selected candidate will work in activities related to Blocks 1 (Data acquisition and annotation) and 3 (Decision Support Systems, particularly on WP56 which is associated to Kidney visual biopsy through ultrasound image analysis). The main activity of the selected candidate will be related to data ingestion and annotation to build the database that will be used to train the kidney visual biopsy intelligent system as well as supporting the technical staff in system validation and estimation of clinical benefit associated to the use of the decision support system.. 

This position is initially for 8 months and linked to the MNEMOSYNE project, funded by Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades. The project targets on the seamless integration of multimodal data using state-of-the-art AI techniques to ensure robust, explainable, interactive and actionable insights for healthcare professionals. 

The successful candidate is expected to participate in the following tasks: 

  • Definition and validation of the requirements associated to image and video annotation platform 
  • Data ingestion and annotation 
  • Validation of kidney visual biopsy decision support system. 

PROJECT PI & HOSTING GROUP 

The direct responsible for this post will be Dr. Jorge Bernal, PI of the ISE lab team at the CVC.  

CANDIDATE ’S PROFILE 

The candidate should possess a BSc in Medicine. The candidate should have a solid background in clinical data management and validation of decision support systems. The applicants are expected to be fluent in both oral and written communication in English. They should work well in a team while demonstrating initiative and independence.  

+ Essential knowledge and professional experience 

  • At least 2 years of experience in ultrasound image explorations aiming to monitor renal grafts 
  • Experience in data annotation for medical image analysis decision support system development and validation 
  • Experience in performance validation and comparative analysis 

+ Competences 

  • The candidate must be an effective communicator, multitask, and work well on collaborative and interdisciplinary designs. 
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently and make decisions. 
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure. 

CONTRACT CONDITIONS  

  • The position will be located at Computer Vision Center (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona campus). 
  • We offer a part-time contract (15h/week) temporary contract with flexible working hours. 
  • Duration: 18 months 
  • Salary: 12.000 € annual gross 
  • Expected starting date: February 2026
