CVC is a non-profit research centre with its own legal personality. It is attached to the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB).

USER ACCEPTANCE

This Legal Notice governs access to and use of the website at www.cvc.uab.es and the subdomain www.workshops.cvc.uab.es (together, the “Website”), which CVC makes available to internet users. The User is any person who accesses, browses, uses, or participates in the services and activities offered on the Website.

This Website complies with Spanish Law 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), as well as applicable legislation on the protection of personal data.

CVC may, at any time and without prior notice, change the design, presentation and/or configuration of the Website, as well as any or all of the services offered, and may add new services.

GENERAL CONDITIONS AND TERMS OF USE

Access to the Website is free of charge. Any use that is not consistent with the purpose of the Website is expressly prohibited.

The User undertakes to use the Website and any services available through it responsibly and diligently, and to show due respect to other users.

This undertaking includes, without limitation, the following obligations:

    • The User must use the Website, its content and its services in accordance with the law, good faith, generally accepted standards of conduct, these terms of use and, where applicable, any specific terms.

    • The User must not obtain, or attempt to obtain, information, messages, graphics, drawings, sound and/or image files, photographs, recordings, software or any other material accessible through the Website or its services, other than as expressly permitted.
    • Where the Website offers interactive areas (such as comments, forums or reader pages), the User must use them appropriately and must not engage in unlawful activity or activity contrary to good faith and public order, including the dissemination of content or propaganda that is racist, xenophobic, pornographic and unlawful, that glorifies terrorism, or that infringes human rights.
    • In accordance with CVC’s anti-spam policy, the User undertakes not to use or collect data from distribution lists accessible through the Website in order to carry out promotional or advertising activities, nor to send commercial communications of any kind, by any means, without CVC’s and/or the recipients prior request or consent.

Any User who, intentionally or negligently, breaches any of the above obligations will be liable for all resulting loss and damage.

WEB REGISTRATION AND PASSWORDS

In general, access to the Websites services and content does not require prior subscription or registration. However, CVC may make certain services conditional upon the User completing the relevant registration process and choosing an identifier (ID or login) and password, which the User undertakes to keep secure and to use diligently.

    • Where registration is required to use a service, the User is responsible for providing information that is accurate, complete and lawful.

For these purposes, the User guarantees the authenticity of the data provided when completing any forms required to subscribe to the services.

The User must keep the information provided to CVC up to date so that it reflects the User's current situation at all times. The User will be solely responsible for any false or inaccurate statements and for any loss or damage caused to CVC or third parties as a result of the information provided.

    • Where a password is issued to access a service, the User must keep it confidential and use it diligently. The User is responsible for safeguarding any identifiers and/or passwords provided by CVC and must not allow third parties to use them (whether temporarily or permanently) or otherwise provide access to them. The User is responsible for any unauthorised use of the services where a third party uses access credentials obtained due to the User's lack of diligence or loss of those credentials.
    • The User must notify CVC immediately of any event that may enable misuse of identifiers and/or passwords (including theft, loss or unauthorised access) so that they can be cancelled. Until such notification is received, CVC will not be liable for any misuse by unauthorised third parties.
    • Some services and content offered by CVC may require prior contracting and payment of a fee, as set out in the applicable general contracting conditions, which will be made available to the User in a clear manner.
    • Where the User must register or provide personal data to access any services, the collection and processing of personal data will be governed by the PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA section of this Legal Notice and, where applicable, by any specific registration terms.
    • Minors are not permitted to contract products or services through this Website without the prior consent of their parents, guardians or legal representatives, who will be deemed responsible for the acts carried out by minors in their care.

LIMITATION OF GUARANTEES AND LIABILITIES

CVC will use reasonable efforts to prevent errors in the content that appears on the Website. However, CVC accepts no liability for loss or damage of any kind arising from lack of accuracy, completeness or timeliness, or from errors or omissions in the information and services contained on this Website or in other content accessible through it. CVC also assumes no obligation to verify or monitor its content or information.

CVC does not guarantee the availability, continuity or uninterrupted operation of the Website. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CVC excludes liability for loss or damage arising from unavailability, interruptions, or faults in access to the Website, its pages, or the services provided through it.

CVC does not guarantee that the Website or the server is free of viruses or other harmful elements. CVC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from interference, omissions, interruptions, computer viruses, telephone failures or disconnections in the operation of this electronic system due to causes beyond CVCs control, nor for delays or blockages caused by deficiencies in telephone lines, overloads on the internet, or other electronic systems, nor for unlawful interference by third parties beyond CVCs control.

INTELLECTUAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY
