Research Data Management Officer

We are looking for recently graduated students with technical expertise to analyse, organize and improve data management at CVC to maximize the knowledge and value of the data, with a specific focus on its quality and availability, as well as on the necessary tools and processes to ensure its accessibility.

We offer a one-year paid internship contract with flexible working hours.

Main responsibilities:

● Design & implementation of a data management model based on knowledge graphs
● Import of information from UAB databases (egreta) or public databases (research portal, Google Scholar, Scopus…)
● Data mining algorithms for node characterization (topics, keywords, etc. of research groups from publications, projects…)
● Link discovery and community detection algorithms
● Recommendation algorithms

Requirements:

Education

● Bachelor’s Degree in Data Engineering

Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience

● Knowledge on Python (valuable)
● Knowledge on Graph Databases (Neo4j) (valuable)
● Additional training or demonstrable knowledge in managing academic information
● Previous experience in data analysis, visualization and interpretation, report writing, data use projects in studies and information analysis departments will be valued

Competences:

● The candidate must be an effective communicator, multitask, and work well on collaborative and interdisciplinary designs
● Ability to think creatively, work independently and make decisions
● Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure

Conditions:

The position will be located at Computer Vision Centre (Campus Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)

● Full-time paid internship contract, a good environment, flexible working hours
● Duration: 12 months
● Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience of the candidate and to CVCs salary regulations
● Starting date: September 15, 2023

The Computer Vision Center

The Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research center established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to carry out cutting-edge research that has the highest international impact in the field of computer vision. It also promotes the transference of knowledge to industry and society.

Computer vision is an exciting research area and an omnipresent technology, essentially empowering machines with the sense of vision. The CVC is a successful marriage between knowledge and innovation. In addition to our cutting-edge scientific achievements, we have established lasting ties with industrial partners and created several spin-off companies.
