The Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research center established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to carry out cutting-edge research that has the highest international impact in the field of computer vision. It also promotes the transference of knowledge to industry and society.

Computer vision is an exciting research area and an omnipresent technology, essentially empowering machines with the sense of vision. Research area or group: Image Sequence Evaluation lab (ISE Lab)

Context and Mission

The ISE Lab group seeks applications to fill a support technician position to collaborate on the first Spanish network devoted to the development and validation of Artificial Intelligent systems (AI4POLYPNET, RED2022-134964-T, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) to assist clinicians in polyp characterization (polyp detection, segmentation an (strategic project based on the results of their research). 

The support technician will work on the development and validation of polyp detection and classification methods which should provide accurate results under real-time constraints. Besides, the support technician will assist the Principal Investigator in the organization and validation of the methodologies developed by national and international researchers in the context of an international challenge on polyp characterization.

Main responsibilities:

  • Development and validation of polyp detection systems
  • Development and validation of polyp characterization systems
  • Definition and application of validation frameworks
  • Support on dissemination activities.

Candidates profile:

  • At least 2 years of experience in programming (Python, C++)
  • Experience in medical image analysis system development
  • Experience in methodology validation and comparative analysis
  • Good level of English
  • The candidate must be an effective communicator, multitask, and work well on collaborative and interdisciplinary designs.
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently and make decisions.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure.

Conditions:

The position will be located at Computer Vision Center (Campus Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).

  • We offer a half-time contract (20 h/week) temporary contract, a good environment, flexible working hours
  • Duration: 9 months
  • Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience of the candidate and to CVCs salary regulations.
  • Starting date: 2nd May 2024
