ACMCV 2022 – 9th Annual Catalan Meeting on Computer Vision

The Computer Vision Center celebrates the 9th Annual Catalan Meeting on Computer Vision

The 9th Annual Catalan Meeting on Computer Vision (ACMCV 2022) took place this year on September 19. The event organised by the Computer Vision Center (CVC), in collaboration with the coordinators of the Master in Computer Vision (MCV) of several Catalan universities (UAB, UOC, UPC and UPF), brings together the computer vision community of Catalonia, connecting research, talent generation and industry during one day.

The goals of these annual meetings are to strengthen the Catalan academic and industrial computer vision network, to highlight the most relevant research results and to allow students from the Master in Computer Vision to meet and interact with members of the Catalan computer vision community.

This year's edition started at the UAB School of Engineering with the presentation of the final master thesis by the students from the Master in Computer Vision. Attendees then moved to the CVC's courtyard where they joined a poster session. The event was followed by a keynote lecture, carried out this year by Dr Antonio Torralba, Professor and Head of the AI+D faculty at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), who talked on “Dataset distillation and Learning to see by looking at noise”.

After the keynote lecture, the event continued with a spotlight session in which the best ACMCV 2022 papers published between 2021 and 2022 either in top impact factor journals or highly ranked conferences were presented. The authors had 5 minutes to highlight the main issues of their work.

Finally, the event was closed by Dr Maria Vanrell, Director of the Master in Computer Vision, giving the awards to this year’s top 5 Graduated Students and to the Best Master Dissertation.
