Research area or group: Learning and Machine Perception Group

The Learning and Machine Perception (LAMP) team at the Computer Vision Center conducts fundamental research and technology transfer in the field of machine learning for semantic understanding of visual data. The group has a special focus on lifelong learning systems that can learn from new data without forgetting previously acquired knowledge. This quality is relevant for the next generation of artificial intelligence systems.

The LAMP group seeks applications to fill a research engineer position to collaborate on a visual tracking project. **Note that this is a temporary collaboration. The candidate will work for the project until February 29, 2024**

Main responsibilities:

● Implementation and evaluation of visual tracking algorithms
● Writing of report on the results
● Optionally publish results in international venue

Requirements:

● The candidate must be doing a PhD on Computer Vision field currently
● The candidate should have prior experience with visual tracking
● The candidate should have excellent programming skills (experience with Python)
● The candidate must be an effective communicator, multitask, and work well on collaborative and interdisciplinary designs
● Ability to think creatively, work independently and make decisions
● Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure
● We are seeking a PhD student in his/her last year

Conditions:

The position will be located at Computer Vision Centre (Campus Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona)

● Full-time contract (37.5h/week) temporary contract, a good environment, flexible working hours
● Duration: 3 months
● Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience of the candidate and to CVC's salary regulations
● Starting date: December 01, 2023

The Computer Vision Center

The Computer Vision Center (CVC) is a non-profit research center established in 1995 by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to carry out cutting-edge research that has the highest international impact in the field of computer vision. It also promotes the transference of knowledge to industry and society.

Computer vision is an exciting research area and an omnipresent technology, essentially empowering machines with the sense of vision.
